L|C Law’s 150-Fest Showdown

On September 25, 2021, Lee|Coats Law is hosting the L|C Law’s 150 Fest Showdown at the Will Rogers Memorial Arena. This is a cowboy mounted shooting event and will showcase the best-of-the-best competitors in a race to win prize money and points qualifying the competitors for the World Championship.

If you are not familiar, cowboy mounted shooting is the fastest growing equine sport in the Nation today and encompasses two .45 caliber, single-action revolvers and 10 targets. The goal, similar to barrel racing, is to complete the pattern the fastest while also hitting all the targets. The fastest horse and rider team wins.

L|C is attempting to make this a showstopping event which focuses on bringing the community together to celebrate 150 years of Vinita being in existence – the firm has been told to expect around 1,000 spectators. Along with the competition, the Vinita Rotary Club will be grilling, selling beer, and cooking up 50 pounds of calf fries. Following the competition, The Brent Giddens Band will play at the American Legion. L|C and the Vinita Rotary Club are donating all proceeds directly to the Craig County Technical Rescue Task Force and the Vinita Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.

There will be food, drinks, entertainment, and fun to be had by all.

Tickets are only $3 for adults and $2 for kids!

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. – The Showdown begins at 7:00 p.m.

Along with the shooting event, L|C is adding some extra flare by having Speciality Act Performer, Haley Proctor, showcase her amazing skills.
Haley was born and raised in Northeast Oklahoma, and she began trick riding at the age of four, after begging her Uncle, 4x NFR Contract Act, Shawn Brackett to teach her the trade. A special passion for trick riding and the performing lifestyle developed at a young age for Haley, when she had the opportunity to travel with the Great American Wild West Show to some of the greatest rodeo venues in the country.

Haley was nominated as the 2018 and 2019 Top 5 PRCA Dress Act of the Year, crowned the 2007 World Champion Trick Rider, competed in the 2016 North American Trick Riding Championships in Las Vegas, and played a role and performed stunt work in the films Cowgirls and Angels and Cowgirls and Angels 2: Dakota’s Summer.

Haley is known for her trick ridding, Roman riding, and high schooled liberty acts. where she is proud to display her Cherokee heritage throughout the show.
We cannot wait to cheer her on as she performs.

Immediately following the Showdown, L|C is bringing one of the Top Country and Red Dirt Bands in the area, and arguably the nation: The Brent Giddens Band.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brent Giddens treats each song he writes with a painstaking level of dedication, reverence, respect and as he’ll readily admit, even a bit of obsession. Giddens wrote tirelessly before his new album released on July 18, 2020. The 15-track album features songs such as his current single, “Texas Wildfire” and “My Kinda Perfect” along with two new tracks, including “Oklahoma”, and “Downfall.” The Album,  PICK YOUR POISON follows the Oklahoma-based performer’s successful debuts, 2018’s  RED DIRT BLUES, and 2017’s WORTH IT.

The goal going forward then, Giddens insists, is to never remain stagnant.   He has a packed touring and playing schedule, and always tries to make time for writing new music.  He idolizes musicians who are always redefining their creativity. He intends to do the same. “My goal is to totally evolve and reinvent myself with each record I make,” Giddens says. “It’s about changing with each record and really not giving a damn about what others think. And if you can pull that off, well, that’s a pretty special thing.”

Taken from his strong Midwestern values, and life experiences, Brent has taken the good with the bad. Single father, with two daughters, he expects to be writing several songs about love, family, and a lot of emotion. Brent enjoys writing creative lyrics that have a simple cadence. Moreover, turning a negative quality or situation into a comical play on words is also a goal for Brent. The country music listener has always accepted this notion with open arms.
